A virtual or online event does not have a physical location. This could be a conference call, a webinar or another ‘in the cloud’ event. When your guests register for your virtual or online event, you have access to the top leaderboard information and can reward your Top Ambassador with a special, relevant prize for being so active in helping you promote your online event.
Simply check the ‘This is a virtual event’ box in the ‘Edit Event’ screen, pictured here:
But first, you need to make sure that you add your online event access information into the event confirmation email or in the event reminder emails, all of which are accessible in the ‘Manage Event’ screen, under ‘Attendees’, by clicking on Email Attendees. You’ll see a list of the automated emails that eEvent created to make it easy to update registered guests. You can easily edit or copy your prepared content into these emails and they will be released at scheduled intervals.
Other steps to promote your online event
Upload your email list and invite them all.
Go to Send Invitation in the ‘manage Event’ screen and upload using one of the five methods provided.
Create a Facebook event.
This one is super easy- just one click! Make sure you share and like it under your own account, and to tag the people you want to see it when you do.
Put one of the eEvent widgets on your website.
Just cut and paste from the Widget Center in the ‘Manage Event’ screen. It’s formatted for WordPress, but it looks good in many other sites, too.
Add a reward for your Top Ambassador!
The person who works the hardest to share your event ought to be recognized. You can add this information in the Social Rewards section in the ‘Manage Event’ screen.
[Tip] Our research shows that the best prizes are for experiences, not money or material goods. One non-profit who did a charity silent auction offered a guest auctioneer position that made the experience unforgettable for the Top Ambassador. More about the Top Ambassador program…
